Portable DC Hipots — 800PL Series
DC withstand, insulation resistance and polarization index from one wheeled case. Built for field work on cable, switchgear, rotating machines and lift equipment, from 40kV up to 170kV.
40kV Digital DC Hipot Tester
The 840PL-HD DC Hipot runs 0.4 to 40kV at 10mA on the same wheeled platform as the 880PL-HD. Same 7" touchscreen, insulation resistance and polarization index readings, and long duty cycle. Sized for distribution cable, motor windings and lift booms.
80kV Digital DC Hipot Tester
The 880PL-HD DC Hipot tests insulation strength to 80kV with a 7" touchscreen and a long duty cycle. It reads leakage current, insulation resistance and polarization index, and rolls on wheels for field work on cable, switchgear and motors.
120kV DC Hipot Tester
The 8120PL-5A-DI runs 0 to 120kV DC at 5mA in a two piece set, a portable controller plus a 102 lb high voltage section. FR3 transformer oil, zero start interlock, internal discharge solenoid and shielded output cable. For cable, terminations, motors and generators.
170kV DC Hipot Tester
The 8170PL-5A-DI takes the same two piece platform to 170kV DC at 5mA, with a 145 lb high voltage section. Same FR3 transformer oil, zero start interlock, discharge solenoid and guard circuit. Specified where testing runs past what a 120kV set will reach.
AC Hipot Test Equipment
Field AC withstand testing on switchgear, bucket trucks, insulated tools and vacuum interrupters. Touchscreen control, guard circuit, and results off by USB or the HIPODirect app.
60kV Single Piece AC Hipot Tester
HIPOTRONICS 60HVTX-DI AC hipot tester is a modern, digital solution for AC field-testing electrical apparatus. It features a lightweight, rugged, single-piece design with a 60kV, 30mA oil-insulated transformer. The tester includes automatic and manual modes, a 7” touchscreen display, and wireless data transfer via the HIPODirect mobile app or USB.
60kV Vacuum Bottle Tester
HIPOTRONICS' model 7BT60 is a portable 60 kV AC dielectric tester for vacuum interrupters in switchgear. It raises voltage to a preset level, holds it for a set duration, then returns to zero. Features include automatic testing, dwell timer, memory kilovoltmeter, failure indicator lamp, adjustable output, and single-piece steel enclosure, ensuring reliable and safe operation.
100kV Digital AC Hipot Tester
The 100HVT-DI delivers 100kV with a 50kV tap and 5kVA behind it, for switchgear and apparatus that draw real charging current. Tests to ANSI/SIA A92.2 and ANSI C37.20. Guard circuit, 7" touchscreen, USB transfer, and an IP67-rated controller case.
60kV Digital AC Hipot Tester
The 60HVT-DI runs 60kV AC at 10mA. It is the general purpose set for crews standardizing one AC hipot across cable, switchgear and dielectric tool testing. Same 7" touchscreen, stored results and USB transfer as the rest of the HVT-DI family.
30kV Digital AC Hipot Tester
The 30HVT-DI runs 30kV AC at 10mA, sized for aerial lift boom and insulated tool testing to ANSI/SIA A92.2 where 60kV is more set than the job needs. 7" touchscreen, adjustable test parameters, USB data transfer.
Analog to Digital Controller Upgrade
Already running an older analog HVT? The upgrade swaps in the DI controller and a voltmeter probe calibrated to it, so you get the 7" touchscreen, stored results, USB transfer and HIPODirect without replacing the transformer. Available for 30kV and 60kV analog sets.
High Duty Cycle AC Hipots - HVT-HD Series
Same 7" digital interface as the HVT-DI, built for volume. Three to six times the output current for long booms and hydraulic hoses, and a duty cycle that holds up when the bench runs all day. For lift shops, switchgear builders and dielectric test labs.
100kV High Duty Cycle AC Hipot Tester
The 100HVT-HD runs 1 to 100kV with 5kVA behind it, and up to 100mA on the 50kV tap for long booms and hoses that draw real charging current. Measures partial discharge to 5pC. Meets ANSI/SIA A92.2, ANSI C37.20 and IEC 62271-200.
50kV High Duty Cycle AC Hipot Tester
The 50HVT-HD runs 0.4 to 50kV at 40mA on 2kVA, with an 80 lb transformer bonnet. Built for shops testing hot sticks, gloves, ropes and vacuum bottles back to back, where a field set would need a cooldown. 7" touchscreen and internal memory.
30kV High Duty Cycle AC Hipot Tester
The 30HVT-HD runs 0.4 to 30kV at 66mA, the highest output current in the family, on a 30 lb bonnet. The volume choice for bucket truck booms, hydraulic hoses and dielectric tool testing to ANSI/SIA A92.2. USB and HIPODirect transfer.
AC/DC Benchtop Hipots — HD100 Series
One bench unit that does both AC and DC withstand, so you are not buying two instruments. Analog metering, zero start interlock, adjustable overload from 10 to 110 percent, and a shorting solenoid that grounds the output and the part when the test ends. Tests to UL, CSA, VDE, IEC and MIL dielectric withstand requirements.
40kV DC / 15.5kV AC Benchtop Hipot
The HD140-A tops the series at 40kV DC and 15.5kV AC from one bench instrument. Voltmeter ranges of 0 to 8, 16 and 40kV, current metering to 5000µA DC and 5mA AC on 4.5 inch analog meters. Ships with the HTL-140 test lead.
25kV DC / 10kV AC Benchtop Hipot
The HD125-A gives 25kV DC and 10kV AC, the choice when DC reach matters more than AC. Voltmeter ranges of 0 to 5, 10 and 25kV, ±2% full scale accuracy. Zero start interlock and shorting solenoid. Ships with the HTL-S test lead.
6kV DC / 5kV AC Benchtop Hipot
The HD106-A covers 6kV DC and 5kV AC for capacitors, transformers, chokes, connectors, medical devices and appliances. Voltmeter ranges of 0 to 1.2, 3 and 6kV. Rack mountable in a 19 inch rack. Ships with the HTL-S test lead.
3kV DC / 2.5kV AC Benchtop Hipot
The HD103-A is the entry unit at 3kV DC and 2.5kV AC. Voltmeter ranges of 0 to 0.6, 1.2 and 3kV, current metering to 5000µA DC. Simple enough to hand to a new operator with minimal training. Ships with the HTL-S test lead.
15kV DC / 12.5kV AC Benchtop Hipot
The HD115-A balances 15kV DC against 12.5kV AC for cable, coil and connector work. Voltmeter ranges of 0 to 3.75, 7.5 and 15kV. Adjustable overload trip and audible and visual alarms. Ships with the HTL-S test lead.
Liquid Dielectric Test Equipment
Dielectric breakdown voltage on transformer oil and other insulating liquids, to ASTM D877, ASTM D1816 and IEC 60156. Battery operated and portable, so the tester goes to the substation rather than the sample coming back to a lab.
60kV Digital Liquid Dielectric Breakdown Tester
The OC60-DI tests dielectric strength in insulating liquids to ASTM D877, ASTM D1816 and IEC 60156, with automatic breakdown detection within 4µs at ±2% of full scale. Battery operated at 60 lb, so the tester goes to the tank instead of the sample coming back.
60kV Oil Tester with Built-in Printer
The OC60P-DI is the OC60-DI with an embedded printer, for crews that need a signed result at the tank instead of a file to transfer later. Same 60kV AC output, ±2% of full scale, automatic breakdown detection within 4µs, and battery operation at 60 lb.
Oil Test Cells and Electrode Kits
The OC-TC translucent test cell takes electrode kits for ASTM D1816, ASTM D877 and IEC 156 gap geometry. The D1816 kit includes a motor-driven circulating system and two VDE electrodes. Legacy cells for OC60D and OC60E units and the OCCM-E calibration meter are also available.
Bucket Truck Leakage Current Meters
Continuous leakage current measurement on aerial lift booms, mounted on the truck and readable from the bucket. New from Hipotronics for 2026.
LCM-W Bucket Truck Leakage Current Meter
The LCM-W measures leakage current on bucket truck and aerial lift booms from 0 to 1000 µA at 0.5% accuracy per range. The 5-inch screen reads from over 30 feet away and the alarm is configurable to 100 dBA, so the operator in the bucket sees and hears it. Records to internal memory, exports by app or CANopen.
Kilovoltmeters & Megohmmeters
Reference measurement for verifying and calibrating your own hipot sets and high voltage supplies, plus insulation resistance testing on apparatus in the field. Both kilovoltmeters are available with ISO 17025 accredited calibration for DC, RMS and peak.

The CF30-8-A puts a DC proof tester, a burner and a capacitive discharge thumper in one case. 30kV DC proof test, 50mA burn current for high resistance faults, and 900J of impulse energy at 15kV. Impulse rate adjustable from three to thirty seconds, automatic or manual. Ships with 100 ft of output cable..
100kV Wireless AC/DC Kilovoltmeter
The KVM100-W reads 0 to 100kV DC and AC RMS at 1.0% of reading, and 142kV AC peak. The display lives on your phone, tablet or PC over the app, so the operator reads it from outside the test area. Ten hours on a charge, saves results as CSV.
5kV Megohmmeter
The HVM5-A measures insulation resistance, polarization index and dielectric absorption on cable, transformers, switchgear, motors and generators. Continuously adjustable 0 to 5kV DC, readings to 100,000 megohms, guard circuit and line regulator so supply variation does not move the number. 22 lb. Test leads included.
200kV Wireless AC/DC Kilovoltmeter
The KVM200-W runs the same wireless platform to 200kV DC and AC RMS, 283kV AC peak, at 1.0% of reading. Measures DC, AC peak, RMS, absolute average, frequency and crest factor, with waveform display in the app.
