About MTE
MTE Meter Test Equipment has built precision test and measurement systems since 1996, from Zug, Switzerland, where the business traces back to the meter works that made the town a centre of electrical measurement. Manufacturing, research and after-sales service sit near Hamburg, Germany. MTE opened a United States operation in Denver, Colorado in 2024.
The company builds two families of equipment. Systems for the testing and certification of electricity meters, which is where MTE started and where it is a global name. And transformer monitoring, sold under the HYDROCAL name, covering online dissolved gas analysis, bushing monitoring and portable DGA.
MTE has delivered more than 14,000 online DGA units worldwide.

The instrument ProgUSA represents in the United States. A portable dissolved gas analyzer in a sealed case of about 30 pounds, measuring ten gases individually plus moisture in oil, with no carrier gases and no calibration gas bottles.
A crew draws a sample at the transformer, runs the analysis and prints a field report before leaving the site.
