About the 60HVTX-DI
Hipotronics developed the 60HVTX-DI as a modern digital solution for field-based AC hipot testing up to 60 kV.
The single-piece design integrates a 60 kV, 30 mA air-insulated transformer with all required accessories: shielded HV output cable, current measurement cable, input power cable, and ground lead. The unit is ready for testing with minimal setup.
A 7-inch color capacitive touchscreen (1024 x 600 resolution) provides an intuitive interface for configuring test parameters including target voltage, maximum leakage current, ramp rate, and dwell time. Both manual and automatic test modes are available.
A guard circuit eliminates stray and surface leakage currents from the measurement, ensuring accurate current readings. Measurement accuracy is ±1.5% of reading ±0.2% full scale, with current resolution down to 0.1 µA.
Key Features
The 60HVTX-DI is built for demanding field conditions. The rugged enclosure includes wheels for easy transport across job sites.
Test results are stored in internal memory and can be exported via USB in CSV format. The unit is compatible with the HIPODirect mobile app, allowing users to view, share, and upload test reports to an online cloud through WiFi Direct. Firmware updates are also handled through the app.
Safety features include a fast-acting fuse, external interlock, emergency stop (E-Stop), and audible warning indicator. Optional accessories include interlock switches, a safety strobe light, and a 120 kV rated grounding stick.
Applications
Utilities and electrical service providers use the 60HVTX-DI for AC dielectric testing of switchgear, reclosers, and breakers rated up to 38 kV. It is also used for testing bucket trucks and aerial lifts rated for 46 kV and below, as well as instrument transformer field testing.
The portable design and fast setup make it suited for planned maintenance, commissioning, and post-repair verification.
